It all started in 2011…
“We started working with Wattpad in 2011 and have grown with them ever since,” says Mitchell Cohen, Dealer Principal, WSG (Workspace Group). “It all started when I visited their first one-room office in uptown Toronto. You knew the moment you entered their space that big things were going to happen. They had 11 employees at the time and they were looking for good chairs. Then, they asked me this question: how were they going deal with wire management with the glass tables they were about to buy. This led to a great discussion about investing in high quality, budget friendly furniture from Herman Miller.

Tech office space goes downtown
As predicted, the homegrown tech start-up quickly grew out of that space, settling in their current downtown Toronto digs. “We needed an open space, not just one filled with desks,” says Melanie Munroe, Office Manager, Wattpad. “Our vision was to have a free-flowing atmosphere. We wanted to allow for solo work but also spontaneous collaboration. Each desk has a good-sized workspace allowing for double monitors and individual personalization.”
“Wattpad chose items that have stood the test of time,” says Judy Brant, Account Manager, WSG. “They are still using the Herman Miller Everywhere Tables and Sayl Chairs they purchased in 2011. Just recently, they have added two 6-person Layout Studio workstations equipped with data and wire management – perfect for hiding ‘spaghetti’ clumps of wires!”
